The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business will host its first International Business Forum on Friday, March 25, at the Lod Cook Alumni Center from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Because globalization is one of the college’s growth initiatives, the forum will be geared for discussion and interaction among business managers looking to interact in global markets.

The college is named after former Donaldsonville businessman E.J. Ourso.

Sam Tiras, chair of the Department of Accounting, conceived the concept for the forum along with E. J. Ourso College Dean Eli Jones and other business partners in the community. He will serve as the coordinator for this inaugural event.

“This forum will provide attendees with a better understanding of business leadership in a global context,” Tiras said. “It will also allow companies to develop sustainable practices in international markets.”

Brian Ferraioli, executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Shaw Group, will serve as the opening session guest speaker, and Adam Knapp, president of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, will address the forum as the keynote lunch speaker.

Immediately following the forum, a reception that will include breakout sessions will be held. During these sessions, topics such as enterprise risk management, globalization preparedness, regulatory issues and global sustainability will be discussed.
