$1,000 donated for Oak Grove Community Center construction

PRAIRIEVILLE – The Wal-Mart Supercenter in Prairieville recently donated $1,000 toward the construction of a new Oak Grove Community Center.

Accepting the check from Wal-Mart store manager Fred Delafosse were Ascension Parish Councilman Chris Loar and Council Chairman Pat Bell. Loar represents District 7, which includes the Oak Grove site.

The community center will be located on the site of the old Oak Grove Community Center at the intersection of Hwy. 42 and Hwy. 73.

Construction on the project, which will include an expanded hall, a spray park and playgrounds, is slated to begin in 2010.
