Gonzales project awarded by DOTD

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development considered bids totaling more than $39 million at its Oct. 28 public bid opening.

Bogalusa firm Chamico Inc. was awarded a $392,991.65 project to install drainage pipe, build concrete sidewalks and related work on Hwy. 939 from EATEL to East Ascension High School and on Hwy. 939 along Bayou Francois in Gonzales.

With a bid of $16,120, 613.73, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, was the low bidder on the most expensive job let, a project in Iberia Parish that calls for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, installing a concrete slab span bridge, installing a movable bridge and related work to replace two bridges on Hwy 83 at Weeks Island.
