Chamber celebrates 60th anniversary

Chamber members and Chamber past chairmen and presidents gathered to celebrate the Ascension Chamber of Commerce’s 60th anniversary at the monthly luncheon Sept. 10 at Elegant Affairs in Prairieville.

Chamber members and Chamber past chairmen and presidents gathered to celebrate the Ascension Chamber of Commerce’s 60th anniversary at the monthly luncheon Sept. 10 at Elegant Affairs in Prairieville.

The event highlighted the Chamber’s history, presented by past director Martin McConnell, and a few stories, shared by former presidents andchairmen about the Chamber during their tenure.

Former Gonzales Mayor Johnny Berthelot recounted memories of the Chamber and its partnership with the City of Gonzales.

The Chamber was also presented with several special gifts from sponsors EATEL and St. Elizabeth Hospital along with regional partner, the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce.

The event was well-attended with all guests receiving an anniversary paperweight as a souvenir and celebration cake.
