Mike’s Poboys reopening Monday
Mike’s Poboys will reopen Monday after nearly a 4-month closure due to a fire.
The restaurant passed a final inspection Friday from the fire marshal and Gonzales city inspectors.
Owner Phong Luong said almost everything in the restaurant is new, including furniture, cooking equipment and a freezer cooler.
There is a new floor, ceiling and electrical wiring, he said.
“The restaurant will look almost the same inside,” Luong said.
About $140,000 was required to rebuild following an after hours fire that caused extensive smoke damage and ruined food and equipment at the popular shop, Luong said.
The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“We invite everyone to come see the new facility,” Luong said.
The full line of food served before the fire will be offered.
