UCB closes branch, makes appointments

United Community Bank announced it will close the Galvez Branch located at 40546 Hwy 42 in Prairieville.

In a release the bank said the Galvez operation will close April 17.

“The Galvez location has served a major role in providing UCB’s services to the Prairieville area,” CEO Mike Riche’ said. “Since the opening of our new facility on the corner of Airline and Swamp Road in Prairieville and the development of the Prairieville area on Hwy. 61, we have seen a large shift in business in that market to our new location,” he added.

UCB constructed a 10,000 square foot, state of the art location offering business, residential, and personal solutions for the growing community in mid-2007.

The bank also announced the appointments of Samantha Guillory and Kim Boulden.

Guillory has been appointed assistant vice president/deposit operations manager. She has been with UCB since 2000 and has held various positions including her most recent position as assistant vice president/Main Street at Pelican Point branch manager. In the new role, Guillory will assist in managing the daily workflow and planning of the bank’s Deposit Operations Department.

Boulden will move to the Main Street at Pelican Point Branch as a banking officer/branch manager. She has been with UCB since it's opening in 1998, and has held various positions within the bank including her most recent position as branch manager at the Galvez Location. Boulden will be responsible for the loan and deposit growth in the Pelican Point area.
