Prairieville contractors receive construction award

Prairieville-based Excel Contractors, Inc. recently received the Excellence in Construction Award from Asscociate Builders and Contractors Pelican Chapter. Excel Contractors, Inc. of Prairieville received the Excellence in Construction Award from Associated Builders and Contractors Pelican Chapter.

The award-winning project was in the category of General Contractors: Industrial $5 to $15 million for construction at Kinder Morgan-Geismar Logistics Center. The award was presented at the ABC Pelican Chapter awards and officer installation banquet Jan. 15 at the Hilton Capitol Center in Baton Rouge. Jeff Pruitt, vice president of construction and Henry Cooper, project manager, accepted the award.

Excel provides construction, engineering, fabrication, and maintenance services for clients located throughout the United States and the world. Clients are in the manufacturing, refining, chemical, power generation, pulp and paper, environmental and alternative fuel industries. Excel is headquartered in Prairieville and has offices in Texas, Kentucky and the Virgin Islands.
