By His Grace

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will." Ephesians 1:3-5 NIV

Sunday we come together in celebration of Father’s Day.

It is a day where our father is honored in remembrance of his many sacrifices. Though some may have journeyed this life and gone home to be with the Lord, we salute all fathers in unity and in love.

To the many men who have taken on the role of father to the fatherless, raising young boys to be responsible and caring men of God, I salute you.

For consistently displaying love and affection and respect as head of the household, I salute.

For teaching godly principles, never wavering from the truth, I salute you.

For never giving up when times were uncertain, I salute you.

For being always available with a listening ear and praying heart regardless time of day, I salute.

For being a father and loving husband who loves unconditionally in every way, I salute you.

And for those who are unsure how to navigate the blessing of fatherhood, perhaps becoming a new dad for the first time, please allow me to share what our heavenly father leaves for you.

From Joshua 1:9 and other biblical passages: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it. Children are a heritage from the lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court. As a father has compassion on his children, so the lord has compassion on those who fear him.

"Whoever fears the lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church — for we are members of his body. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.

"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

"These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

To demonstrate the love of God in your daily walk in life either at home or elsewhere, allow me to extend an invitation to experience his wonderful love for you.

To experience the love of God, a relationship must be established through his son, Jesus. Allow me to extend an invitation to experience the love of God. To begin, you must first confess Jesus as lord and savior. You may ask why we need to confess. God knows what is in our heart. There is no other way to the father but through the son. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Please repeat this prayer: "Lord Jesus, forgive my sins I committed against you. I believe Jesus died for my sins and has risen again. Please come into my life and heart and lead the way. I confess you as my lord and savior from this day forward. In Jesus’ name, amen."

Welcome into the family of Christ.

Happy Father’s Day!

Until next week, be blessed and continue to bless others along the way. Shalom.
