Chef John Folse & Company Publishing of Gonzales was awarded a Benny, the highest honor in the 2016 Premier Print Awards, for its cookbook entry, Can You Dig It: Louisiana’s Authoritative Collection of Vegetable Cookery.

The Premier Print Awards, the graphic arts industry’s largest and most prestigious worldwide printing competition, recognizes outstanding achievement in print production. Chef John Folse & Company Publishing received the “Benny” for Best Cookbook.

The Premier Print Awards is the printing industry’s oldest and largest worldwide graphic arts competition, hosted by Printing Industries of America. In its 66th year, the annual contest recognizes those responsible for the creation and production of superior print communications.

This year more than 2,400 entries were received from printing and graphic arts firms from around the world; judges awarded the Benny to the top entry in each category.

“It’s such an honor to be recognized as a company that produces beautiful, award-winning cookbooks,” Folse said. “Knowing that hundreds of companies throughout the world compete for this award makes winning a Benny all the more prestigious.”

“The Benny winners represent the best our industry has to offer," said Michael F. Makin, president and CEO of Printing Industries of America. "This year’s entries were outstanding. There were entries from companies in eight countries. Despite the fierce competition, Chef John Folse & Company Publishing, through hard work and dedicated craftsmanship, produced a piece worthy of the Benny.”

Chef John Folse & Company Publishing will receive its Benny at The Premier Print Awards Gala, which honors all the companies that had the top award conferred upon them. The 2016 Gala is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 25 in Orlando, Fla.
