Volunteer, donate or foster are animals are ways to help flood victims in the area.

1- Volunteer: The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is urging anyone available to volunteer to help clean and muck out homes with flood damage. If you are able to help with this process, please contact volunteerlouisiana.gov.  Any organization or church group is also encouraged to sign up.

2- Donate: Volunteer Ascension is currently taking money donations for victims in Ascension Parish. You can call the organization at (225) 644- 7655. There is also an account set-up at Whitney Banks in the area.

3- Foster animals: The Ascension animal shelter, CARA's House, is full and overcapacity. They currently are housing more than 200 animals at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center, and are in need of foster homes. To help the shelter, contact (225) 675-0400.
