SORRENTO – The regular meeting of the Mayor and Council was held on Dec. 1.
Absent from the meeting was Councilman Marvin Martin. The minutes from the Nov. 17 meeting were approved, as well as the bills for the month of November, totaling $36,788.96.
A motion was approved to use the the 2015-2016 Local Government Assistance Program grant money to upgrade the town's computer systems and technology within the Mayor's office.
The council agreed to further pursue the issue of delinquent accounts and write-offs collections.
A change order from Land Services was approved by the council regarding the Community Center parking lot, totaling to $3,582.
The police report for city calls and arrests during the month of October was given, which stated that there were 137 service calls, of which 15 were vehicle accidents, 69 traffic citations, three burglaries, two adult arrests, one theft arrest, three resident alarms, 16 business alarms and one loud music citation. There were no armed robbery, simple robbery, narcotics and juvenile arrests. '
The next town meeting will be held on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m.
