After the Gonzales Police Department arrested a 16-year-old this morning for communicating a bomb threat at East Ascension High School, a second bomb threat was investigated by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office which resulted in the arrest of another student.

After the Gonzales Police Department arrested a 16-year-old this morning for communicating a bomb threat at East Ascension High School, a second bomb threat was investigated by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office which resulted in the arrest of another student.

According to Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala, an East Ascension High School student advised his teacher that another student who attends the Apple Digital Academy Alternative School was posting threatening tweets regarding East Ascension High School. The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office School Security Officers went to the alternative school to speak with a 15-year-old juvenile regarding his tweets.

The 15-year-old was transported to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Division for further investigation where he confessed to tweeting threats.

He was transported to the Assumption Parish Youth Detention Center where he was charged with terrorizing and cyber-stalking.
