Background: The St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department has served the community consistently since its formation in 1973 with ten firefighters, and now boasts 65. The volunteers work out of three fire stations within the area, with a fourth on the way.

About the Chief: James E. LeBlanc, 44, is a 13-year member of the department. He has served as chief for 25 years.

Fact The motto of the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department is “Our Family Helping Your Family”. They are involved in nearly every fundraiser that comes through the St. Amant Community, including building handicap ramps for theneedy, starting St. Amant for St. Jude , and iving 25 baskets away each Thanksgiving to needy families.?They have a crew of volunteer men and women, Ladies Auxiliary, and Junior Firefighters.?
