A cook’s meeting for interested teams will be held on Thursday, June 30, at 6:30 p.m. at the expo center’s Big Sky Café.

The two-day cook-off benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been growing in size each year thanks to Wally Taillon and The Jambalaya Association attracting jambalaya aficionados and amateur cooks alike. Jambalaya will be judged based on appearance, rice texture, meat texture and overall taste. The $150 entry fee provides each team of two with pork, onions, rice, sausage, cooking oil and seasonings.  Teams will compete for prizes from Shane Martinez of Krazy Kajun Cookware.

Over 6,000 festival goers attend each year to enjoy an extensive line-up of Swamp Pop & South Louisiana musicians such as Jamie Bergeron & the kickin’ cajuns, Cliff Nickens, TK Hulin & GG Shin, Van Broussard & The Bayou Boogie Band with special guest Grace Broussard and many more! Additionally, there will be an Open Car & Truck Show presented by Alternate Route Cruisers and festival goers will get the chance to meet Trapper Joe LaFont & Trigger Tommy from the hit show Swamp People on The History Channel.

The festival is one of the largest attended events the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation puts on in the country! For more information, please visit www.swamppopmusicfest.com or call Willy Taillon  806-5759 with questions concerning the cook-off.
