The men were called upon by the city of Joplin to set up their cooking base outside of the Joplin  City Hall offices.

Residents were required to come to the building to register for assistance, and the city asked the men to come out with their pots and paddles to provide food for the residents affected by the tornadoes.

Although Lamendola and Bourgeois have returned to Ascension?Parish, the cooking continues, as relief cooks have gone to the city.
