On June 14, Louisiana State Police working in partnership with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, the Gonzales City Police Department and the DEA Taskforce served a search warrant on a residence in Prairieville related to a suspected indoor marijuana grow operation.  The search resulted in the arrest of Albert Carroll  Jr., 47, of Prairieville, on various drug related charges.


On June 14, Louisiana State Police working in partnership with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, the Gonzales City Police Department and the DEA Taskforce served a search warrant on a residence in Prairieville related to a suspected indoor marijuana grow operation.  The search resulted in the arrest of Albert Carroll  Jr., 47, of Prairieville, on various drug related charges.

Agents received information regarding the suspected drug operation and immediately began an investigation.  The investigation revealed Carroll to be in possession of forty-nine marijuana plants, three firearms, and equipment used to cultivate marijuana.  Carroll was growing the marijuana plants in a 12ft by 12ft room built in the attic of his residence, accessed by a hidden staircase.

The estimated street value for the seized marijuana plants is approximately $49,000. 

Carroll was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of a firearm with marijuana, and simple possession of marijuana.
