Six hundred fifty seniors from ten parishes enjoyed good music, good food, and good company while they learned about federal, state, and local services at Capital Area Agency on Aging’s (CAAA) Annual Expo at Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, on Oct. 20.

Peoples Health, WellCare Health Plans, Inc., Gulf Coast Teaching Family Services, BlueCross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Bateman Senior Meals, Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Acadian Monitoring Services, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and Whealdon Estates/Holiday Retirement sponsored the event for seniors and Council on Aging staff from Ascension, Assumption, East Feliciana, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, and Washington parishes.

Capital Area Agency on Aging is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of services for seniors and adults with adult onset disabilities in 18 parishes through partnerships with Councils on Aging and other service providers. Services include: information and referral, prescription assistance; application for public funded long term care, home delivered meals, congregate meals, transportation, telephoning and medical alert, homemaker, personal care, caregiver support, wellness, and legal assistance.
