NOTICE – In the matter of the Succession of John Henry Collins, Probate No. 15321, Twenty-third Judicial District Court, Parish of Ascension, State of Louisiana.  Newspaper Advertisement for Private Sale:  Since the Succession of John Henry Collins, of the above estate has made application to the Court for the Sale at private sale of the immovable and movable property described as follows:

A.        1.    One (1) certain lot or parcel of ground together with all buildings and improvement located thereon situated in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, and being more particularly described according to a map entitled ATimberlake Estates Phase One@ made by W. Kenneth Moore and Associates, C.E., dated Baton Rouge, Louisiana, March 12, 1975 as LOT SIX (6) according to said map; said lot having a front of two hundred seventeen and sixty-two-hundredths (217.62) feet on Henderson Bayou Road (existing) by a depth of three hundred twelve an thirty-five hundredths (312.35) feet (plus ten (10) feet as shown on said map) on the North side and having a rear measurement of two hundred and ninety-one-hundredths (202.91) feet;
        2.    A certain parcel of ground situated in the Parish of Ascension, together with all buildings and improvements thereon and thereto belonging, in Section 2, Township 9 South, Range 3 East, Southeastern District of Louisiana, and more particularly described as commencing at a point three hundred twenty-two and thirty-five hundredths (322.35) feet west of the southeast corner of lot six (6) as shown on the plat of survey TIMBERLAKE ESTATES SUBDIVISION prepared by W. Kenneth Moore Associates, C.E. dated September 21, 1974 and recorded in the Conveyance Records of Ascension Parish under file #132669, then measures West a distance of two hundred thirty-nine and fifty-nine hundredths (239.59) feet to the northwest corner of Lot Four (4) of said subdivision, then North a distance of one hundred ninety and two-tenths (190.2) feet, then East a distance of two hundred twenty nine and six-tenths (229.6) feet to the northwest corner of Lot (6) as corrected by Act of Correction recorded in C.O.B. 270, folio 378 of Ascension Parish, thence South a distance of two hundred two and forty-four hundredths (202.44) feet to the point of beginning, containing 1.057 acres;

The two parcels hereinabove described being contiguous and forming one unit of property for purposes of this sale.

B.    One (1) certain lot of ground situated in the Parish of Ascension in Section 2, Township 9 South, Range 3 East, Southeastern District of Louisiana, containing 1.075 acres and being an unnumbered lot designated as AReserved for Future Commercial@ on the plat of Timber Lake Estates prepared by W. Kenneth Moore & Associates, Consulting Engineers, duly recorded in the conveyance records of Ascension Parish.  Said lot is more particularly described as commencing at the corner of Norwood Road and Henderson Bayou Road and measures North along Henderson Bayou Road a distance of 312.38 feet, then West a distance of 141.94 feet, then South a distance of 312 feet to Norwood Road, then West along Norwood Road a distance of 158.20 feet to the point of beginning, all as is more fully shown on said plat;

C.    One (1) certain lot of ground situated in the Parish of Ascension in Sections 2 and 37, Township 9 South, Range 3 East, Southeastern District of Louisiana, designated as LOT NUMBER THIRTY FIVE (#35) on the final plat of TIMBERLAKE ESTATES, SECOND FILING, as shown on the plan of survey by Alex Theriot, Jr., Registered Land Surveyor, of Alex Theriot, Jr. & Associates, Inc. dated October 4, 1984, a copy of which is duly recorded in the conveyance records of Ascension Parish.  Said Lot #35 contains 0.57 acres and has such measurements and dimensions and is subject to such servitudes and building setback lines as are shown in detail on the plan of survey referred to above and made a part hereof by reference;

D.    All of the right, title and interest of John H. Collins in and to the business known as AJ & J Mini Storage@

PUBLIC  NOTICE

During a test conducted on September 08, 2010, the City of Gonzales received a sample from a single sampling faucet that indicated a “positive coliform value”.

The City immediately initiated an internal investigation into the incident and could find no system problem that would allow for “positive” bacteria results.  All disinfectant levels were normal and well within optimum system specifications.  In fact, all other sample points indicated negative bacteria values. Distribution operators suspected the sample tap, at the original sample point, may be the cause for the elevated bacteria result and immediately initiated a complete change of the sampling faucet. A sample was collected for bacteria analysis after the change was completed on September 15, 2010. The results of this sample were negative for Coliform bacteria.

Based on the investigative action and final repairs noted above, it appears that the “positive” bacteria value came from the faulty faucet not the actual potable water system. All other samples indicated the potable water system did not test “positive” for Total Coliform. The issue was isolated at the sample tap faucet. Once this faucet was replaced, all results were negative.

Accordingly and pursuant to the Louisiana State Sanitary Code, the following information is provided. During the reporting period of September 1, 2010 through September 30, 2010, the City of Gonzales water supply violated the maximum contaminant level of coliform bacteria as set forth in the State and Federal Primary Drinking Water Regulations (Part XII of the Louisiana State Sanitary Code (LAC 51:XII). Action has been taken to eliminate the contamination.  You DO NOT need to boil your water or take other corrective actions. However, if you have specific health concerns, consult your doctor. People with severely compromised immune systems, infants, and some elderly may be at increased risk. These people should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers.  General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.

THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY.  If it had been you would have been notified immediately.  Total coliform bacteria are generally not harmful themselves.  Coliforms are bacteria that are naturally present in the environment and are used as an indicator that other potentially-harmful, bacteria may be present.  Coliforms were found in more samples than allowed and this was a warning of potential problems.

Usually, coliforms are a sign that there could be a problem with the treatment or distribution system (pipes). Whenever we detect coliform bacteria in any sample, we do follow-up testing to see if other bacteria of greater concern, such as fecal coliform or E.coli are present.  We did not find any of these bacteria in our subsequent testing.  If we had, we would have notified you immediately.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
