PRAIRIEVILLE - Two women and four men were arrested Wednesday following a home invasion and robbery in Prairieville, Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said.

Response to reports of a home invasion on Marty Road in Prairieville during the late evening hours Oct. 25 and a subsequent investigation revealed that the three occupants of the home were startled when two subjects entered the home identifying themselves as DEA agents, Bacala said.

The three occupants were involved in a physical altercation with the two intruders, and the intruders fled the home with a safe containing prescription medication, according to the chief deputy.

One of the victims pursued the intruders with a knife when he was encountered by a third suspect who was also armed with a knife, Bacala said.

As the three suspects entered the getaway vehicle, which was already occupied by three other suspects, the pursuing victim stabbed one of the suspects, Bacala said. As the getaway vehicle fled the scene the vehicle intentionally struck the victim, he said.
Two victims were treated and released from a local hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the home invasion.

Bacala said investigators phoned surrounding hospitals and learned that David Sanders was currently being treated at a Baton Rouge hospital for a non-life threatening stab wound.

Questioning of Sanders led to his arrest and subsequently to five additional arrests:
