Both coming off of a pair of losses to open District 6-5A play, East Ascension and St. Amant are at a crossroad in the season.

Both teams have enjoyed three-game winning streaks this year so far.

East Ascension (4-3, 0-2) has played in two competitive setbacks in the last two weeks. The district opener was a defensive standoff. Hahnville was able to hold off the Spartans 7-3. The following week, East St. John needed a fourth-quarter surge to claim a 48-31 win.

St. Amant (3-4, 0-2) started district play against East St. John. The Gators were working on a late drive, but a turnover helped East St. John take a 42-37 win. St. Amant hit another bump the following week when No. 3 Dutchtown (7-0, 2-0) claimed a 42-6 win.

Both St. Amant and East Ascension utilize run-heavy offensive attacks. The teams have several players capable of carrying the ball, including the starting quarterbacks.

Seniors lead both offenses. For East Ascension, Emerson Foster is at the helm. On the St. Amant side, the versatile Jaylin LeBlanc handles the reigns.
