The credit is for a quantity of excavation and fill work that was not needed on the job. The item will be added to the next consent agenda for Board approval.   Mr. Ed Price reviewed the Board’s options for the Old Lowery Middle School Campus. It was agreed that the Board will allow the City to pursue their Development Concept for the site. The Board will hold off on the Auction of the property until the outcome of the proposed City project is known.   Mr. Chad Lynch reviewed a proposed Right of Way agreement with Entergy which will facilitate electrical service to the new Sorrento Primary School. Mr. Lynch recommended that the item be added to the next School Board consent agenda for approval.    Mr. Chad Lynch reviewed the Roddy Road Expansion project near Central Middle School. Mr. Lynch informed the Committee that the Parish Government appraised a portion of School Board property which they would like to purchase to accommodate the future Roddy Road expansion project. Mr. Lynch informed the Committee that he will be meeting with Parish staff to review the offer. Mr. Lynch asked that the item be added to the next consent agenda, pending the outcome of the discussion with the Parish Government staff.   Mr. Lynch reviewed the status of upcoming Construction projects funded by the 2009 Bond. Projects scheduled to occur in 2010 and 2011 are currently in Programming and Design. The project status list was reviewed in this meeting and will be posted on the APSB web page.   This concluded the Facility Management Meeting.   Mr. Gautreau said that the Insurance Committee met tonight.  The following report was given:  A new cancer policy that will be offered to our employees and underwritten by AFLAC was discussed.  100% of the premium would be paid by the employee and the offer is strictly voluntary and will be offered during open enrollment. Renewal of Dental Insurance which is currently offered by Ameritas was discussed.  Other carriers will be offering contracts at or below current rates.  The School System will start accepting proposals.  Mr. Fontaine noted that when all is finalized, we should have the same dental contract paying at or below the current rate. A review of the current Healthcare Insurance Plan by United Healthcare was given.  Mr. Fontaine presented a claims analysis report. Total claims paid and loss ratios are on par in terms from year to year.  Participation actually increased if we take out Medicare retirees who opted to transfer to Advantage Plan.  At the present time, it appears that rates will not be increased.   Under Superintendent’s Comments, Mrs. Pujol noted the following: School Board Disclosure Forms are in packets.  If no changes are needed, please sign and return to Robbin tonight if possible. These are due to the Board of Ethics at the end of August.  The School Board meeting of August 17th, will be held at East Ascension High School.   A 5:30 tour of East Ascension High School lighting project will be held on August 17th. Mrs. Pujol met with Child Nutrition Program employees this morning and everything is off to a good start. Mrs. Pujol welcomed Ms. Angie Peraza, the new Risk Manager, who was in attendance at the committee meetings tonight. Mrs. Pujol noted that everything is ready for the start of school next week.
