Karen Tomlinson recently announced her candidacy for Justice of the Peace in Ascension Parish’s 3rd Justice Court, which includes the St. Amant area.

The position will be decided in the Oct. 4 primary election, or in the Nov. 4 runoff if necessary.

Tomlinson, a St. Amant resident, is the daughter of Linda LaBauve Ordoyne and the lete Alton “Poochie” Ordoyne. She has been an active member of the St. Amant community for  the past 16 through various avenues. She has been an event coordinator in multiple fundraisers and is an active volunteer with the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department. There, she has served for the past four years as an elected board member and secretary of the department’s board of directors and has received numerous awards for her efforts, including being recently named the department’s Member of the Year.

For the past six years, Tomlinson has worked with the 3rd Justice Court’s Justice of the Peace office as well.

“With your vote, I will bring to you and the community insight, knowledge, loyalty, dependability and most of all, honesty,” Tomlinson said.

Tomlinson is married to Danny Tomlinson. The couple has two children, Billy and Whitney.
