Ascension Christian recorded a season-opening win with a 46-8 rout over Ecole Classique Friday.

Brian Kinchen earned the win in his first game as a head coach.

The Lions, playing in one of five varsity games this season, were led by quarterback Matthew Hadley and Aaron Lanclos. Hadley threw two touchdown passes to Lanclos, covering 147 yards.

Lanclos rushed six times for 75 yards.

Ascension Christian scored all of its points in the first half to coast to the win.

Jacoby Heatly scored on a 3-yard run and returned a fumble 78 yards.

Charley Imbornone led Ecole Classique with 65 yards on 17 carries. He also threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Melvin and a two-point conversion pass to Daniel Jeanfreau to tie the game in the first quarter.

Ascension Christian will travel to take on Ridgewood Prep Sept. 17.
