The Louisiana Blazers GOLD 18U Fastpitch Softball Team recently qualified to play in the 2009 Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) Gold National Championship Tournament to be held in Oklahoma City at Hall of Fame Stadium in August. The GOLD qualified by going undefeated in Tulsa, Oklahoma in June in a field of 93 teams representing 11 states in the Southern Territory. They are currently 36 - 5 and have played in Marietta, Georgia; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Beaumont, Texas; Edison, New Jersey; Atlanta, Georgia and locally in Baton Rouge and Crowley. The Louisiana Blazers will be competing in a 64 team field representing over 25 states at the ASA GOLD Nationals.
