The Ascension Parish 4-H Shooting Sport’s Club held their 2009 Recognition Ceremony at Cabela’s June 16.
Many special guest were in attendance including Louisiana 4-H State Agent David Bolt, EASL’s Barney Callahan, parish councilman Pat Bell and local 4-H agents Jamie Templet and Kayla Haydel.
Recognized with a certificate were club instructors Carol Babineaux, Marty Reed, Ron Stoehr, Janet Kennison, Joann Hullum, Ted Hullum, Thad Bellow and Carrie Brown.
Jacie Kennison, Chelsie Reed, Taylor Gentile and Brett Brown were recognized as Outstanding 4-H’er, someone who was a role model all year long to the younger kids.
Colby Dixon, Brenden Raffery, Joseph Babineaux, Anthonly Picou, Charles Brignac, Dakota Jenkins were Hi-Achievers, students that achieved their goals.
Certificates were also given accroding to discipline: Taylor Gentile, Brett Brown, Joseph Babineaux, Chelsie Reed, Austin Sazain, Tyler Sazian, Charles Brignac and Adam Kling in archery; Montana Dupry, Anthony Picou, Brenden Raffery, Jospeh Babineaux, Taylor Gentile, Brett Brown, Dakota Jenkins, Charles Briganc and Adam Kling in shotgun; Jacie Kennison, Jake Stoehr, Brett Brown, Taylor Gentile, Brenden Raffery, Dakota Jenkins, Dillion Lejunue, Rebakah Brignac and Charles Brignac in rifle; Cameron Braud, Devin Geronimo, Dylan Geronimo and Ethan Dixon in BB and Monique Reed, Cameron Braud, Colby Dixon, Dillion Lejeaune, Jason Stehr, Jarred Stoehr, Robert Brignac, Jacie Kennison in pistol.
Jacie Kennsion and Jake Stoehr were also recognized for advancing to Nationals in Air Rifle.
The mission of the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Program is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes so that they may become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.
