RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- The Kansas City Chiefs say rookie defensive tackle and Gonzales native Glenn Dorsey should miss about a week after spraining his left knee in practice last weekend.
An MRI exam showed no additional damage, the Chiefs said Monday at training camp.
Dorsey was the fifth overall pick in the draft. The former LSU star signed a $51 million, five-year deal last month. He was hurt when he collided with another lineman during practice.
Dorsey is considered vital to rebuilding the defensive line after the departure of Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen to Minnesota.
The Chiefs opened their preseason slate Thursday at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears.
