What is hotter than the weather in south Louisiana this week?

That’s an easy one.

Congratulations LSU Tiger baseballers, the hottest and best team in college baseball, on winning the College World Series Wednesday night in Omaha, Neb.

The Tigers stormed past the Texas Longhorns 11-4 to claim LSU’s sixth national championship since 1991.

LSU’s storied baseball teams since that first championship under former Coach Skip Bertman are the stuff of legends.

Baseball LSU style is one of the best things about Louisiana, and the envy of much of America.

It’s hard to believe it has been nine years since the Tigers last won the World Series.

That’s how high up you will find the LSU baseball pedestal in the minds of baseball fans  around the country. Even when they’re not winning the World Series, the miraculous rise of the bayou baseball Tigers lives on.

Congratulations to Coach Paul Mainieri for taking the Tigers to the top again in his third year at the helm.

We can’t resist saying it: if everyone played baseball the way LSU teams do,, baseball might still be the national sport.
