Visiting for Frank Cambre, 82, will be from 9-10 a.m. with Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, in the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. 

Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the St. Gabriel Cemetery in St. Gabriel. 

Frank was born in Carville, and was a resident of Opelousas. 

He retired from the U.S. Navy after serving in WWII and the Korean War. 

He left his friends on June 6, 2009. 

His smile, laughter and jokes will be missed by his daughters: Linda M. Cambre of Fort Wayne, IN and her two children Blake Delatte and Chelsea Himes; Linda Leger Richard and husband, Keith of Opelousas; Fran Leger LaFleur and husband, Steve of Opelousas; Simone Leger Nielsen and husband, Dale of Natchitoches, and Connie Leger Murdock and husband, Jody of Little Rock, Arkansas; siblings, William P. “Bill” Cambre and wife, Rosa of Baton Rouge; Lula Cambre Armand and husband, Hubert of Geismar; Annette Cambre Tucker and friend, Doyle Gautreau of Gonzales; and Martha Cambre Laurent and husband, Monty of Carville; 12 grandchildren and 21 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Blake Delatte, Adam Richard, Dale Nielsen, Blaine LaFleur, Tyler LaFleur and Keith Richard. Preceded in death by his father, William "Willie" Cambre; mother, Eulalie Babin Cambre; first wife of 35 years, Ethel Kilner Cambre; second wife of 14 years, Ruth Leger St. Amand Cambre; brother, John Cambre; and sister, Mary Theresa Cambre Simoneaux.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
