A resident of Prairieville, he died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Regency Place Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 8, 1958. His career in the mobile home business spanned many years in Ascension and East Baton Rouge parishes. He received numerous awards from the Mobile Home Sales Association of America for being the No. 1 salesman of mobile homes in Louisiana. Robert, Noah Dominique
A native of Ascension Parish, he died on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 30, 1923, in Burnside. He was a 1940 graduate of Catholic High School in Donaldsonville. By World War II he enlisted in the Naval Officer Training Program. He went on to complete his naval midshipmen schooling at Columbia University in New York City where he was commissioned an ensign, U.S. Naval Reserve. He was assigned to the USS LST 942 which was engaged in several landings in the South Pacific. During that time he was promoted to captain of the vessel. Entombment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery, Donaldsonville.
Robinson Jr., Alvin Carna “Blood”
A resident of New Orleans, he died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 4:20 p.m. at his home. He was 59 and a native of Donaldsonville. Visiting at Demby & Son Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Friday, July 3, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in Protestant Cemetery, Donaldsonville.
Mistretta, Thomas O. “Tom”
He died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, four days after celebrating his 92nd birthday. He was born in Donaldsonville on June 26, 1917. He was a charter member of Pius X Catholic Church. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, Usher Society and Always Young Club. He was a resident of Baton Rouge since 1952 and a lifelong Tulane Green Wave fan.
