Drive-Safe Driving School held a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of its new driver educational school June 24 at their office located in Gonzales.

Drive-Save Driving School is an organization that proudly serves the population of Ascension and surrounding Parishes. They provide English/Spanish translated 6 hour pre-licensing courses, 30-hour instruction, DWI or DUI, defensive driving, automobile instruction (behind the wheel), anger management and CDL, chauffer and motorcyclist tutoring. They are open Monday- Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Attending the ribbon cutting Drive-Safe Driving School were owners Sylvester and Sheila Wilson, instructors Ophelia Cloudet and Antoinette Bolden, office assistants Jacquetta Stewart and Claire Hendricks, student workers Jasmine Miller, Tevin Bell and James Kent, Ascension Parish Representative Amy Johnson, Ascension Parish Councilman Pat Bell, Ascension Chamber President/CEO Sherrie Despino and several fellow chamber members.
