Calling for the continuation of growth and prosperity, Kirk Boudreaux announced his candidacy for the Division B seat on the Gonzales City Council.
“Over the past 25 years, our city has much to be proud of; our quality of life continues to improve and our city has made great economic progress,” Boudreaux said. “Much of this progress is the result of our elected officials working together. The Gonzales City Council and our mayor have always put the priorities of the citizens of Gonzales first. As a result, our great city continues to move forward. As your next councilmember, I will continue this tradition.
“I am proud to call Gonzales home. I have raised a family and built a successful business here. As your next councilmember, I want to give back to a community that has given so much to my family and I,” Boudreaux said.
Boudreaux cited his business experience as a key qualification.
“As a local business owner, I know how to make financial decisions, balance a budget and make payroll,” he said. “As your next Councilmember, I will use my business experience to ensure that our tax dollars are invested wisely.”
Boudreaux attends St. Theresa Church and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. His community involvement includes participating as an active member of the East Ascension Booster Club for more than seven years and serving as its president for three years. He also coached youth baseball, basketball and soccer for more than 10 years. He is married to Melanie Espey Boudreaux. Together they have two sons, Tate and Joel.
“I would like to thank Mayor Johnny Berthelot for his hard work and true leadership. He has set a high standard of effectiveness. In large part, because of Mayor Berthelot, it truly is a great day in the City of Gonzales,” Boudreaux said. “I wish him all the best and I will work hard every day to see to it that our city continues to move in the right direction.”
