Harold Stewart, a 24-year resident of the City of Gonzales, recently announced his candidacy for the Division D seat on the Gonzales City Council, which will be decided in the Oct. 4 elections.

A well-known entrepreneur in the city of Gonzales, Stewart is owner of Stewart’s Barber Shop. His establishment has been conducting business for 24 years.

Stewart, 44 and a registered Democrat, described himself as “a father of three sons and two daughters and a dedicated businessman.”

“I have worked in the heart of the City of Gonzales for numerous years,” he said. “My experience has allowed me great opportunities to learn and develop as a dedicated leader and loyal individual.

“As your city councilman, my desires are to establish an open relationship with the citizens of the city. I plan to establish a form of media to increase public awareness, work with the council and employees and to insure accountability to all agencies, including the police and fire departments, for the safety of our community.’’
