A St. James Parish jury convicted Terrell Stipe of the second-degree murder of Keelan Irvin, 25, of Gonzales, according to 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin.
Stipe, 32, of Killona, is already serving 50 years in prison for armed robbery, carjacking and aggravated kidnapping that occurred in 2005.
After his arrest for armed robbery and carjacking, St. James Parish deputies arrested Stipe in 2006 in the shooting death of Irvin, Babin said.
Fingerprints and DNA evidence linked Stipe to the crime, according to Babin.
Stipe faces a mandatory life sentence for second-degree murder after the 12-person jury returned a unanimous verdict of guilty.
Stipe will be sentenced Sept. 9, Babin said.
