A teenage boy fatally shot a 30-year-old Prairieville man early Saturday morning in Baton Rouge, according to city police.
A 15-year-old boy allegedly shot Juan Gonzalez, of 44299 E. Villar Junior, at about 2:15 a.m. in the 6000 block of Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge, police said.
Police arrested the boy Sunday on a count of second-degree murder.
His name has not been released because he is a juvenile.
According to police, Gonzalez and the juvenile knew each other.
Gonzalez reportedly had been riding in a black Dodge truck, and one of the other four passengers sustained a minor injury and had to be taken to a local hospital.
Police said the suspected shooter left the scene on foot eastbound on Florida Boulevard.
Officers arrested the boy at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday without incident in BREC’s Red Oaks Park.
