Man dies at scene of collision

A Prairieville man died in a head-on collision on Daigle Road around 7 a.m. Friday morning, Chief Deputy Tony Bacala reported in a release.


The accident involved a Ford Mustang driven by Dameon Breaux, 28, of 16123 Henderson Bayou Rd., and a Ford F-350 pickup truck. Breaux was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, Bacala said.


According to the driver of the truck, Breaux’s vehicle left the roadway to the right, then came back on the road, Bacala said. It appeared that Breaux lost control of his car and crossed the center line, resulting in the collision, according to the driver of the truck, Bacala said.


The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, Bacala said.
