Students and parents from East Ascension High and Dutchtown High embarked on an EF Educational Tour to Costa Rica during the week of April 10-18.

The tour included stops to ecological parks, volcanoes, and extreme sport adventures such as surfing, kayaking, zip lining in the jungles and nature walks.

“It is one thing to learn about other cultures in a book,” said East Ascension teacher Jamie Andrews, “But it will mean so much more to our students to actually see in person how other people live and the effects of the changing cycles of nature.”

Enrollment for next spring's trip to Italy has begun. Contact Andrews at EAHS at 225-621-2400 or 225-673-2183 for information.

Next year's trip will include stops in Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Capri, and Sicily.

“Everyone in the community is welcomed to join us as we attempt to ‘live the textbooks,’” added Andrews.
