EATEL partners with Ascension and Livingston Parish School systems to present sixth annual Top Scholar’s Banquet

 

EATEL recently partnered with the Ascension and Livingston Parish School systems to host the 2012 Top Scholar’s Banquet. The sixth annual event recognized the academic success of twelve high school students, as well as the teachers who have been most influential in their lives. In addition, EATEL presented each student with a $200 gift certificate to use towards future academic supplies.

A message from the Superintendent of Ascension Parish Schools

For years schools were a place where children came to learn by sitting in individual seats in classrooms and receiving instruction from a teacher. Children who understood the lesson would be ready to move on to the next, but what would happen to that child who did not understand the lesson or could not pick up a concept? For some of those students, it could be a long school year filled with anxiety and even disappointment.

BASF employees judge Galvez Middle School Science Fair

Several BASF employees volunteered to serve as judges at Galvez Middle School’s annual science fair on Wednesday,
January 11. Employees listened to presentations from members of the Galvez Middle School Science Club. Science experiments ranged from Mentos candy and soda explosions to evaluating the Stroop effect versus reading ability.
