Host of Cajun Livin N Cookin Rodney Dupuy and his wife Leslie organized the 4th Annual Black Iron Pot Cook-off at Galvez Hardware on Saturday, November 17.

A delicious red bean gumbo took 1st Place. Enough cannot be said about it.

The contest was to cook anything, so long as it could be prepared in a black iron pot. Dishes included bacon macaroni and cheese, white bean chili, venison spaghetti (3rd Place winner), deer sauce piquante (2nd Place winner), jambalaya burrito, and more.

"Celebrity" judges included musician Chase Tyler and wife, Lindsey Noto, Roland Doucet of Tiger 100.7, A.P. Borne, and yours truly.

For anyone wishing to have lunch in the sun with some of the finest cooking anywhere and a live DJ, $5 dollars got them three bowls of food.

"Thanks for coming out, and we'll do it again soon," Rodney Dupuy said.
