Family fun is always right around the corner when holidays are near.

At Francois Bend in Gonzales, on October 30, they had a Bootcaular Bubbles and Balloons event.

For this event, they had games like Eyeball Toss (similar to corn hole), Ghost Pong (similar to beer pong), Whack-a-Ghost (bowling), and Cookie Decorating, to name a few. With spooky music in the background to add to the atmosphere, you were sure to get into the Halloween spirit.

There were hardly any tricks, but lots of treats. Guests and residents got to enjoy a scarecrow pumpkin filled with meat to choose from and eat, fun spinach dip with a pumpkin on the side, and spiderweb cakes. There were also bags of candy dressed up as pumpkins to pick from.

"We want the community to know they can come have fun here. This isn't like most other assisted living places. We want everyone involved," Amanda Williams, Director of Marketing and Community Relations, said.

Many families of the employees came, as well as grandchildren of the residents. The kids had the opportunity to trick-or-treat, but they had to do a fun little dance to receive the candy before!
