The victim stated that she was in a relationship with LeBlanc for 10 years up until about May of 2018.

On Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 3:06 a.m. the Gonzales Police Department was dispatched to the Palms Apartments in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Officers learned that the suspect identified as Chris LeBlanc, also the former boyfriend of the victim, entered the residence of the victim without consent. According to witnesses, after entering the residence, LeBlanc physically removed the victim from the residence without her consent. While LeBlanc was physically removing the victim from the residence, a struggle ensued which resulted in her shirt being torn.

Several hours later, the victim was located walking down Coontrap Road towards her apartment. She informed investigators that after being forcibly removed from her residence by Leblanc, her former boyfriend, she was slapped twice in the face by LeBlanc (once on the right side of the face and once on the left side of the face) and was struck in the head by LeBlanc with a bottle.

According to the victim the suspect struck her hard enough to knock the glasses off of her face along with two ear rings out of her ears. The victim also informed investigators that LeBlanc, after removing her from the area of her home, wanted to discuss their relationship which recently ended with his arrest for SIMPLE ROBBERY, that she was also the victim of in that case.

The victim advised investigators that she thought LeBlanc was armed with a handgun, however she never saw a weapon. While discussing their relationship, LeBlanc threatened to kill the victim if she reported the incident to law enforcement prior to him releasing her.

The victim stated that she was in a relationship with LeBlanc for 10 years up until about May of 2018.

The minor children of LeBlanc and the victim were present in the home at the time LeBlanc entered and removed the victim from her residence.

LeBlanc was located during the investigation after GPD received a tip that he was back at the apartment of the victim. LeBlanc was taken into custody without incident and has been booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on the following charges:

(1) Count 2nd Degree Kidnapping

(1) Count Unauthorized Entry

(2) Counts Domestic Abuse Battery

(1) Count Simple Assault.
