Master Cattleman Class

Put on by the LSU AgCenter, the cost of the program is $125. The fee covers teaching materials, meals and refreshments during each session, certificates for graduates, and a sign to display on the farm. There will a minimum number of participants needed to enroll for the class for us to be able to hold it. The classes will be held in Gonzales. The meetings will begin at 6 p.m. and will be held for 10 consecutive Wednesdays starting on September 12. Each class will last roughly 3 hours. Fall Enrichment Classes

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge will offer enrichment programming for teens and adults this fall. Each course is led by a local teaching artist and designed to bring more creativity, freedom, and fun into students’ lives. Courses include: Unlocking Classical Music; Improv 101; Expressions through Watercolor Painting. Fall classes will meet weekly at 427 Laurel Street throughout the month of October. Dr. Louis LeFebvre at Main Street Dental Care in Gonzales, La. is participating in Freedom Day USA on October 11. This day is designed to honor and help our military by offering free dental services to current and retired military personnel, as well as their immediate family. In addition to offering our services we are asking businesses around our community to donate items (i.e. gift cards, items for raffles, food/drink to enjoy in office while waiting) to make this a great experience for the patients. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

The Gonzales Police Department will be participating in the National Mobilization of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign during August 17 through September 3. The department is able to do this through the grant received from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. Officers will be out in force to enforce the DWI laws. If you drink don't drive, be considerate of yourself and others' lives.

Ascension Chapter Banquet

Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Louisiana's Ascension Chapter Banquet presented by Bevel Tech Group, Relief Windows, EATEL, Shell, Cabela's, Hancock Whitney, and Rouses Markets will be held at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center on Thursday, September 20 at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $75 per person, $650 per table of 10, or $1250 per VIP table. Cancer Mind-Body Skills Group

6-Week Mind-Body Skills Group will meet Tuesdays, August 14, 21, 28, September 4, 11 & 18. This is a 6-week educational program to help cancer survivors and caregivers reduce stress, enhance the immune system, increase sense of well-being, and improve self-care.
