Dutchtown senior defensive back Jordan Jackson is one of the 10 parish football players to watch in 2018.

The high-school football season is close. You can almost taste it.

In just one more week, teams from throughout the parish will be playing in their jamboree games. The week after that, they'll officially kick off the regular season.

The 2017 season was one of the best the parish has seen in a long time. Five of the six teams reached the second round of the playoffs. Ascension Catholic finished as Division-IV runner-up.

It should be another great year for parish football as the many standouts return from last season.

Jordan Jackson (Dutchtown)

Franklin isn't the only top parish defensive back that will be playing some offense in 2018. Dutchtown head coach Guy Mistretta said that the Griffins plan on using McNeese State commit Jordan Jackson on that side of the ball as well. The explosive Jackson is on pace for a huge senior season, after earning second-team all-district honors as a junior defensive back.
