During the week of February 26-March 2, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

1. Jessica Elwood, 44434 Elwood Dr. St. Amant, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

2. Mickey Sanchez, 38133 Stanley Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 51, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

3. Javante Billy, 8378 Annie Oak St. Sorrento, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. Upon release, the defendant is to register and notify as a Sex Offender for a period of 15 years.

4. Aaron Ballard, 13243 Alysha Dr. Denham Springs, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $25,000 or More and Theft Valued at $5,000 or More, but Less than $25,000. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. The said sentences are to run concurrent with one another.

5. Juan Mendez Barro, 2007 N Amelia Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 22, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

6. Rodney Madrie, 314 Macon St. Efaula, AL., age 35, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

7. Clayton Townly, 7212 Ernest Floyd Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse by Strangulation and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

8. Cody Loupe, 1107 Greenbriar St. Gonzales, LA., age 28, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

9. Morgan Gaudin, 13220 George Rouyea Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

10. James Baloney, 9353 Hwy 405 Donaldsonville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

11. Vonzell Batiste, 300 6 th St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

Assumption Parish:

1. Timothy Humphrey, 171 Village Lane Amelia, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Disarming of a Peace Officer and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve 1 year of the said sentence, and the remaining year is to be suspended. Upon release, the defendant is to be placed on 1 year supervised probation.

2. Michael Brown, 5541 Hwy 1 Napoleonville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve 18 months of the said sentence, and the remaining 6 months are to be suspended. Upon release, the defendant is to be placed on 6 months supervised probation.

3. Courtland Watts, Franklin, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Burglary and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

St. James Parish:

1. Quenton Joseph, 2213 Project Dr. Vacherie, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Resisting a Police Officer with Force or Violence and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

2. Katelynn Bentley, 10516 W Octavia Circle St. James, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Theft Valued over $750, but Less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

3. Reginald Robinson, New Orleans, LA., age 58, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1 year supervised probation.

4. Freddie Allen, Donaldsonville, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Forgery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

5. Jordan Balthaser, 136 Courtaulds Ave. Saraland, AL., age 23, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

6. Jared Chauvin, 312 Tania Ave. Gramercy, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

7. Crondell Flowers, 1034 Paul Frederick St. Luling, LA., age 42, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
