Mrs. Brandon’s contribution to the club through the years has helped ensure its 56 years of continued service.

The Gonzales Garden Club recently established the title of “Gonzales Garden Club Honorary Lifetime Member” to honor members who reach the milestone of 90 years of age. On December 8, Mrs. Elizabeth Brandon, age 96, became the first recipient of this title.

Mrs. Brandon’s contribution to the club through the years has helped ensure its 56 years of continued service. Four current members visited her residence to thank her for her legacy of exquisite floral designs, impeccable hosting style and gracious community service. Gonzales Garden Club Member Ellen Richmond commented, “I will always remember the February meetings Mrs. Brandon hosted because her tables were stunningly set with beautiful roses.”

Club President Jamie Trisler presented Mrs. Brandon with a proclamation of lifetime membership as well as a vase of roses. When making the presentation to Mrs. Brandon, Trisler said, “It is my hope that those who come behind you will follow your example and the club will continue to strive to educate, enhance and preserve the landscape in our community. Thank you so much for your dedication.”
