Some personnel changes have been announced within the ranks of the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department, for which a promotional ceremony was conducted Sunday at the main fire station on Stringer Bridge, where the new helmets were delivered, stated Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc.

Included is the promotion of Shane Rojas to Asst. Deputy Chief. Rojas, a five year veteran of the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department transferred to St. Amant from the St. James Parish area. Asst. Deputy Chief Rojas has held the positions of Lieutenant, Captain and Board Member before being promoted to Asst. Deputy Chief, stated LeBlanc.

Also promoted was Jake Blanchard, to the rank of Captain. Blanchard, also a five year veteran of the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department has held the positions of Sargent, Lieutenant and Board Member before being promoted to Captain, stated LeBlanc.

Robbie Villenurve was promoted to Lieutenant, after serving the past two years as a Sargent. Lieutenant Villenurve, is another product of our St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department Junior Firefighting Program, where he was a member for seven years, before being promoted to Firefighter when he turned eighteen years old, stated LeBlanc.

Kane Hanna was promoted to Sargent, after serving the past two years as a Firefighter. Sargent Hanna, is another product of our St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department  Junior Firefighting Program, where he was a member for seven years, before being promoted to Firefighter when he turned eighteen years old, stated LeBlanc.

The St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department consists of 35 Volunteer Firefighters, three Asst. Chief’s, four Captain, Lieutenants and Sargent’s along with a Chaplain, EMS Director and Safety Officer, stated Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc.

Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc said the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department is proud of these individuals who will continue to assist in leading the local Volunteer Fire Department and protecting our community and residents.
