Dancing for a Cause is right around the corner on July 8. The event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Arc of East Ascension. Here are short bios about the emcees of the event, Bridget Hanna and David Alexander.

Bridget Hanna has been employed by the Ascension Parish Clerk of Court for over 33 years becoming the first female Clerk of Court on February 2, 2015. She is a member of the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association and presently serving on the Clerks Association Board of Directors as Secretary and on several committees. She is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Ascension and currently serves as Chairwoman. She presently serves as a Committee Member for the Gonzales Area Foundation. A life-long resident of Ascension Parish, Bridget is married to Kevin Hanna and they are the proud parents of four children. They are members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and reside in St. Amant.

David Alexander is Superintendent of Ascension Public Schools, an A-rated school district ranked fourth in the state. Born and raised in Ruston, Louisiana, in 1997, he left Lee High School in Baton Rouge for a position at St. Amant High and has spent the last 19 years working in Ascension Parish including as Principal of Dutchtown High and Director of Secondary Education. Alexander holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Louisiana Tech University and a master’s degree in math education from Louisiana State University. He and his wife, Dacia, have two children who are products of Ascension Public Schools: Caleb and Ashley.
