ACT’s summer musical ‘Gypsy’ to stage

Ascension Community Theatre 10th Anniversary Season's summer musical, “Gypsy,” runs July 8-10 and 15-17 at 7 p.m., with Sunday matinees July 11 and 18 at 2 p.m.

Preston Heath, 2, was diagnosed with aplastic anemia in November 2009.  Aplastic anemia is a rare blood disorder which is treated with chemotherapy drugs. Unfortunately, his blood disorder has not responded to the chemo.

Class of 1978 East Ascension High School Big 50 Birthday Bash will be Saturday, June 12, from 6 p.m.-until at the home of Kathy Berthelot Mowery, 44067 LaCoulee Rd., St. Amant. Jambalaya will be served. Participants are asked to bring a covered dish or a dessert. Also bring your own ice chest with drinks and lawn chairs. Sorry, no children are allowed to attend.

A series of public meetings that began Monday night regarding the Ascension Parish Comprehensive Plan, which will develop a land use plan that the parish will use as a blueprint for the next 20-30 years, continues through Wednesday.
