  • Crimestoppers tip leads to narcotics arrests

  • Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Major Kevin Hanna reported several drug arrests as a result of a Crime Stoppers tip received.
    On Tuesday, September 24, the narcotics division, acting on a Crime Stoppers tip, began investigating a subject, identified as 27-year-old Christopher Washburn that had an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and improper telecommunications. The tip also provided information that Washburn was selling drugs in the St. Amant area. Narcotics detectives learned he was living in St. Amant with Bonnie Hebert at 9104 Harry Heath Road. Detectives located Hebert at a neighbor's home who confirmed Washburn was at her home. A search of the home resulted in detectives finding Washburn hiding in a closet. Additionally, detectives located a meth lab in the home along with nearly five grams of methamphetamine, xanax pills, scales, cocaine, synthetic marijuana, and crack pipes. Detectives also located Dayla Sappington, 26, of 47456 Highway 937, St. Amant in the home.
    While searching the home, a car pulled into the driveway and those occupants were identified as Dayne Poirrier, 22, of 13267 Percy Parker Road, Gonzales and Kimberly Roddy, 27, of 17285 JT Roddy Road, Prairieville. Poirrier had a quantity of Heroin and Sudafed in his possession. Both Poirrier and Roddy admitted to detectives that they were bringing Sudafed to Washburn to cook methamphetamine.
    Christopher Washburn of 10029 Highway 937, St. Amant was arrested and charged with creation of a clandestine lab, possession of synthetic cannabinoid, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of xanax, possession of firearm by convicted felon, aggravated battery, and improper telephone communications.
    Bonnie Hebert, 51, of 9104 Harry Heath Road, St. Amant was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, creation of a clandestine lab, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a traffic bench warrant.
    Dayne Poirrier was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute pseudoephedrine, creation of a clandestine lab, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
    Kimberly Roddy was arrested and charged with possession of pseudoephedrine and creation of a clandestine lab.
    Dayla Sappington was arrested and charged with creation of a clandestine lab, possession of synthetic cannabinoid, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of xanax.
    All were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
