    Petitioner certifies that:
    A) Said tract of land is contiguous to the existing limits and boundaries of the City of Gonzales;
    B) Petitioners are the owners in fee simple of the entirety of the tracts sought to be annexed;
    C) At this time, Petitioners, ANITA BURNETT CANN, CLOYD CANN and CLAUDIA ADELE BURNETT reside at 8155 Highway 44 Gonzales, LA, JOHN H. BURNETT, JR. and GEORGE HAYWOOD BURNETT reside at 8169 Hwy. 44, Gonzales, LA 70737.  No residents are presently residing on the properties of the Estates or the  Courtney’s.  
    D) Petitioners are the owners of one-hundred (100%) in value of the property to be annexed.

    As required by R.S. 33:172, Petitioner annexes hereto a certificate by the Assessor of the Parish of Ascension certifying:
    A) That they, individually or in their representative capacity, are the record owners of fee simple of the tract(s) of land to be sought and annexed; and
    B) That said tracts of land are assessed in the sum of FORTY SIX THOUSAND TEN AND 00/100 ($46,010.00) DOLLARS for the current year.

    As required by Louisiana R.S. 33:172, Petitioner attaches hereto by the Registrar of Voters of the Parish of Ascension listing all registered voters residing in the sought to  be annexed.

    Petitioners therefore request that the City of Gonzales annex the above-described  property by ordinance; that notice by publication be given once of the filing of the petition in the Gonzales Weekly; that said notice specify that anyone desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed ordinance shall notify the clerk or secretary of the City of Gonzales in writing and that the City of Gonzales, before adopting any such ordinance, shall grant such hearing; that if no hearing is requested or alternative after the required hearing, and after the expiration of ten (10) days following the publication of a notice as required by R.S. 33:172(B) said ordinance be adopted and the above tracts of land annexed to the City of Gonzales.

    Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with L.R.S. 3:1609 and LAC 7:XV.314(A), the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry, Louisiana Boll Weevil Eradication Commission, has established a boll weevil eradication zone, the Louisiana Eradication Zone, consisting of all the territory within the state of Louisiana.  
    Notice is further given that all producers of commercial cotton in Louisiana are required to participate in the boll weevil eradication program, including cost sharing, in accordance with the Boll Weevil Eradication Law and regulations.  This includes, but is not limited to, reporting of cotton acreage and paying of assessments each crop year, and destruction of cotton plants and stalks by December 31 of each crop year.  A copy of the law and rules and regulations may be obtained from the Boll Weevil Eradication Commission, P.O.     REVISION TO THE PARISH UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE
    Recently the Parish Council adopted an ordinance recommended by the Planning Commission that requires an applicant to place a Notification sign on properties that are going to appear before the Planning Commission (excluding Final Plats and Servitude Revocations).  However, a fee for the posting was never approved. This ordinance would establish a fee, and thus allow the Parish to collect a fee for the signs that are being provided to the applicant.  The applicant may choose to not pay the fee and have a sign erected onsite that meets the required code at their own expense.

    1.0    Parish of Ascension is seeking proposals from qualified companies to provide Gradall Leasing services.  Parish of Ascension RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AWARD THE RFP TO ONE OR MORE VENDORS... The service provider will be asked to bid 60 month term lease.   .  .  .   This RFP establishes a general scope and terms of services that should form the basis of each bidder’s proposal, and the Parish will tentatively select a successful bidder on the basis of the submitted proposals.  However, the Parish hereby notifies all prospective bidders that it reserves the right to enter into discussions with the tentative awardees to negotiate appropriate tailoring of the selected proposals and create a finalized set of terms and conditions for the contract.  The Parish is taking this approach because the nature of the requirements and the varied details concerning how it might be satisfied by different contractors may necessitate additional clarification.
