The NFL slapped a one-year suspension without pay on New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton for his involvement in the Bounty Scandal that went public in February.
Saints General manager Mickey Loomis must serve an eight-game suspension next season.
In addition, the NFL will fine the Saints franchise $500,000.
Perhaps the most damaging penalty: The Saints will lose second-round draft picks for the next two seasons.
Former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams -- now with the St. Louis Rams -- recieved an indefinite suspension.
Williams originally denied involvement in the bounty program, in which Saints players recieved bonuses (reportedly $1,000) for hits that put opposing players out of action.
